Master Dressing Room is Done

I'm so pleased that the Master Dressing room is done.  The island was finally built, the crown molding added and knobs put on the doors and drawers.  I'm happy with how it turned out! I can begin to unpack and put away all the clothes.

Crossing things off the "to-do" list

The mudroom is almost done.  Drawers are being build today for each cubby and the doors are on order.

The cabinets are all installed in the kitchen.  The appliances need to be hooked up (waiting for the plumber) and the countertops need to be installed (they're taking the template for the countertop tomorrow.) Once the counter is in, I'll pick a tile for the backsplash.

The island in the foreground will have seating for 8 stools.  The empty spot on the back right of the island is a space for a beverage cooler.

The Butler's Pantry.

The Plant Room.  Not sure we'll put plants in here, so we need another name, but it's what the previous owner called it.

First floor back porch.  The small staging area for construction stuff.  And actually, as of this morning, all this stuff is gone!

The Master Dressing room still isn't done.  The island needs to be completed, doors need to be installed over the shelves and molding needs to be  installed along the top of all of the built-ins, but the chandelier went in.  Joe hates this room.  I love it!

Isabelle's room -- the chandelier was hung while she was at school on her birthday.  She LOVES it!

Sleeping in Milton

The first few days of school and the week of Orientation for Isabelle, she and I were back at the hotel in Charlestown.  But, Labor Day weekend, we set up camp in the kids rooms.  Their rooms and bathrooms, along with the laundry room were done and livable. (Not so for the rest of the house). So, Cameron got to go off to a new school year without leaving from a hotel lobby. No kitchen, no privacy (the painters arrive every day by 6:45 and Maurice is usually here by 7:30), but it's home!

A view of the river from a public landing around the corner. Our back yard is behind the low lying tree.

A closer view.  We will need permission from the Conservation Commission to touch anything near the water, including trees or if we want to build a dock.  On the list of things to do!

The fireplace in the Living Room

Our first dinner at 152 Adams!  No table or chairs, so picnic-style on the dining room floor!

Three houses up the hill is a big field/park with a lovely view of the Boston Skyline.  Although I've never been up on our roof, our contractor assures us we have this view and Phase II includes a roof deck. (The new skylight we installed opens as a roof door).

The dogs were going crazy at Cameron's bedroom window (three floors up from this view). There were six turkeys in the yard.

Kitchen Appliances finally arrive!

Library Fireplace still needs a surround to be installed

Outside on the front porch.  I just love the detail Maurice put into the trim.

The kitchen cabinets finally arrive.

There will be two islands.  This one will move way over to the left and the second will start near the end of where this one currently is.

And then finally, exactly 20 weeks after these trucks pulled away from our Charlestown house with all of our belongings, they backed into our Milton driveway!

Two trucks, five guys and too many boxes to count.  We are officially living in chaos.  Since many of the rooms aren't done, we just have piles of furniture and boxes in a holding pattern.

Day Two of putting the kitchen cabinets in place
